The Lamb Staging Brake System is designed to be used in lieu of an internal transbrake to improve the car's performance and consistency. The Staging Brake is especially effective on 3-speed transmissions, such as the Chrysler Torqueflite.
By providing a tremendous amount of rear-wheel braking capacity, the racer can leave the starting line by either releasing the foot brake or employing a line lock-type button — an approach that produces much more consistent results. Once staged, the car cannot roll backwards out of the beam for inadvertent red-lights starts — a common problem with conventional transbrakes.
By pre-loading the drive train and suspension components, the Lamb Staging Brake System not only produces more consistent launches, but reduces the wear and tear on the drive train parts as well as the transmission itself. The elimination of the transbrake takes away the possibility of accidentally activating the transbrake during the run which is an added safety factor.
The Lamb Staging Brake System is a compatibly-engineered kit that, when properly installed, allows the driver to achieve desired braking pressure with one depression of the foot pedal. The Lamb Staging Brake System also provides shut-down area stopping capabilities that cannot be matched by any system offered by other OEM or aftermarket manufacturers.
